NOTE : WATERCOMBE HOUSE IS BOOKED FOR CHRISTMAS and NEW YEAR 2008.
Watercombe House is a stunning Grade II Listed Regency farmhouse nestled in its own private valley in the Cotswold Hills. Watercombe offers peace, seclusion and a taste of grand country living. It is a truly enchanting house, transporting you back into a bygone age yet with present day luxury and comfort.
Not only are there many walks to be taken from the house, but its location is within easy reach of the many visitor attractions, picturesque towns and delightful scenery the Cotswolds have to offer. Watercombe House sleeps 10 + cot and is perfect for family holidays, reunions or a special celebration break.
The majority of the house was built between 1790 and 1840 and contains a wealth of period features including a listed cider press in the kitchen and beautifully reeded door architraves. In the grounds a listed folly incorporates roman tiles excavated from a nearby roman villa.
In 2003 the house was extensively restored retaining the period features. The kitchen and bathrooms were fitted to the very highest standards with custom made limestone showers. The house is stylishly yet comfortably furnished, and has a drawing room and sitting room (both with working fireplaces), a dining room (table seats 12) with a grand piano, a large farmhouse kitchen with an Aga, a pantry, utility room and boot room for those muddy wellies.
There are five large double bedrooms and four bathrooms. Outside there is a croquet lawn and a terrace for relaxing or dining. Sorry, we are unable to accommodate weddings, stag or hen parties.
